AB214 Post-Mortem

The presentation went fairly okay. Much better than my impromptu presentation (then again, ANYTHING is better than my impromptu).

Kelvin asked me, "Are you going to sing today?" the moment I stepped into class. Hahas. Opps >.< style="font-weight: bold;">Ulrike: I'm not quite sold on this Twitter thing. You mentioned that it sounds silly to send an email to a friend just to tell her that you are having coffee. So how is Twitter different?

Me: E-mail is(are?) mainly one-to-one communication. You choose who gets your message, regardless if they want to or not. Whereas, on Twitter, the audience CHOOSE you.

Ulrike: What's the main advantage of Twitter over blogs?
Me: Blogs have no word limits and they can get draggy. Audience may not have the time or want to make the effort to read such a long post. In Twitter, we are restricted to 140 words. We have to be concise and therefore, reading becomes much easier for the readers.

The question that I could have done better?

Ulrike: Do you think Twitter is catching on in Singapore?
Me: Erm.. I think it's more common in SMU than here in NTU. *pause* Yeah.

URGH! The answer should be: Singaporeans tend to be late adopters in the aspect of social media. For example, it took quite sometime before the Facebook fever hit Singapore. Therefore, Twitter is not common in Singapore but I think it will after awhile.

Or something along that line.

But then again, Ulrike seemed to post the last question as more of a casual question than a graded question. So hmm.

But oh wells! Only one question from the class and it was fairly simple? But I think the person was not sold on social media (not just Twitter) at all. She's rather concern of her "image" being damaged/ruined as you can't really "vet" the comments or control what people want to say about you on social media?

Oh wells! My class is rather anti-social media.

I'm glad I did my presentation on Twitter(: Cheers to all who voted for Twitter!

Ratings: 3.75 out of 5 microphones.

Make me use Twitter by adding me! I have reset-ed my passwords for ten times!-.-
