In Hall A, 30% of the 800 people were men. In Hall B, 40% of the 400 people were women and children. After some of the people in both halls had switched hall, 25% of the people in Hall A and 75%of those in Hall B were men. How many people were there in Hall B after the change?
The answer is 360. It took a helluva brain cells and people to solve this. All of us resorted to trial and error with a little bit of cheating.
Ojiisan was so pissed that he just went, "Am I suppose to give you the non-algebra solution?" Opps :X
But yes, finally, YM came up with the first part of the answer and then I followed through and came up with the last part. Still trial and error but no cheating!
Anyways, here's a HUGE THANKS to sampat king, zhanyi, andrew, ojiisan, mingjian, YM and Walter! Oh, and my sister! She stayed up (once again) to try and solve it!
I got it! I can finally go to bed and stop looking like I am going to faint at any moment.
